The LCC physics and detector directorate is responsible for activities that advance the physics and detectors of the linear collider. It will coordinate the worldwide effort to develop advanced detectors capable of realising the physics potential of the machine. Working with the community, it will prepare the way for collaboration formation and detector construction when the project is approved. It will guide worldwide R&D on linear collider detector technologies and will create and supervise the process that will lead to final approved detectors. The immediate focus is on realisation of the ILC as well as synergy of ILC and CLIC efforts in the area of physics and detectors.
